Hurricane Preparedness Training

PREPARING FOR HURRICANE SEASON
June 1st is approaching faster every year and for those along the Gulf Coast it is time to check our hurricane preparedness lists. Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston will offer training at the KBC on Saturday, May 31st from 10am to 12 noon
The training is fun and interactive and open to the public. And free of charge!
Make sure your family is ready for the hurricane season of 2008
Refreshments will be served.

Introduction

The understanding that "we are sent" is at the foundation of our Christian faith. The scriptures are full of stories of people who responded to a call and were sent on a mission for God. Jesus spent his ministry calling people and sending them on God's mission (Andrew and Peter, the sons of Zebedee, Mary, Martha and Lazarus, the woman at the well, the paralyzed Man by the pool, Zacchaeus in the tree, etc.) The New Testament instructs those would be followers of Jesus to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, give shelter to the homeless, heal the sick, care for the widow and nurture the children Therefore, the Kingdombuider's Missions ministry is putting faith into action through training and sending forth persons in the mission field both locally and globally.

Mission Levels 1 - 5

KB mission opportunities will be categorized into levels (depending on distance to be traveled, living and working accommodations, environment, etc.) ranging from 1 to 5. The chart below is an example of how mission opportunities might be categorized:

Mission Level	Length	Destination
Level 1	1 - 7 days or on going	Houston
Level 2	3 - 7 days	Texas
Level 3	3 - 7 days	Continental US, Mex, Canada
Level 4	7 - 14 days or more	Europe, Central America
Level 5	10 - 14 days or more	Africa, China, Russia

KB will work in partnership with other organizations to offer a variety of mission opportunities at levels 1-5
